Liquor Store Blues E.1
Hello all! I don't know if I've told y'all yet but I work at a liquor store! During my shifts at the liquor store I have a lot of "do whatever I feel" time that I usually fill with homework and Netflix.
However, I also use the time to write out fantasies that come to me after talking to customers, from letting my mind wonder, and from writing prompts I find via Pinterest.
I thought it would be cool to share my writings from Paradise - the name of my liquor store - on here! The writings will be labeled "Liquor Store Blues".
This particular poem has been a long time coming. Living in a small town, I have a lot of regulars that come and see me weekly. There is this one boy, who shall remain nameless, that comes in and turns my life upside down for about 30 minutes after he leaves. I always have a smile on my lips, blush on my face, and butterflies in my gut. So I felt the need to write it all down!
Enjoy!!!

I hear you pull up, butterflies flair
You smile that smile, tousle your hair
I know we cannot be,
out of league for me.
You start with the lines, simple and sweet.
Face grows red, not skipping a beat.
Remind myself you're just kind,
Don’t really pay me any mind.
Next come the jabs, quick and easy
Feeling of being together is nice and breezy.
Simple five minute meetings,
You will never know my true feelings.
